The programme

Practice room at Zvjezdane Staze
The Space

A week of focused work: individual lessons, group sessions, time to practice. Three participants, one mentor.

Bosnia has a living accordion tradition: the instrument is present in concert halls and village celebrations alike. This programme draws on that proximity.

Programme structure

The programme divides into two methodically distinct but intertwined areas of work:

Repertoire Lab

At the centre is interpretive work on self-chosen repertoire: the sounding realisation of compositional intention. Which articulation serves the harmonic structure? How does the bellows relate to phrasing? What freedoms does the score open, what does it foreclose?

In parallel, contemporary extended techniques (drone tones, vocal integration, reed box manipulation) expand the instrument's sonic range. Improvisation sessions complement the work on notated repertoire. The pieces developed during the week are presented at the closing concert.

Career Lab

The second strand addresses the structural and practical conditions of a musical career. Concert planning and programming, recording and label research, festival applications, press and media relations are treated as integral to artistic professionalism.
