Obnova
Two years of work on a house that had stood empty for decades. Stone walls, wooden beams, the original layout preserved where the structure allowed.
Kuća
An old Bosnian house standing above its orchard, the view opening toward Bobovac. What stands now is what was imagined for a long time. Vjeruj u nemoguće.
Mijakovići
Around fifty houses on the slopes of Mount Perun, two hundred to three hundred residents, the residency house at around 890 metres above sea level. The settlement is part of Most Beautiful Villages of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the local chapter of the international federation. Wooden, layered architecture once common across central Bosnia is still inhabited here.
Komšiluk
Zvjezdane Staze would not exist without the people of Mijakovići: their hospitality, their help, their openness. Coffee carried across yards, news travelling on foot, doors that stay open.
Bobovac
Nine hundred metres west of the house, the medieval fortress of Bobovac. Royal seat of the Bosnian kingdom from the fourteenth century until 1463, with three kings buried in its chapel. From here, the last queen Catherine fled for Rome by way of Dubrovnik. The ruins are visible from the yard.
Dešavanja
Sound walks, concerts, masterclasses, intimate winter gatherings. Most grow from residency work itself, becoming public when the time comes. Star Trek summer evenings, Suncostaj at solstice.
