Dreams to Come True

Five artists in residence, 3 July / 30 September 2024

Mijakovići, BiH

In the summer of 2024 the house in Mijakovići received its first artists in residence. Between 3 July and 30 September, five artists took part: the composer Marta Kowalczuk, the composer and performer Manuel Pessoa de Lima, the pianist and composer Roman Stolyar, the writer and dramaturge Minja Jovičin, and the composer Damjan Jovičin. They were selected from 46 applications sent from 24 countries.

The season shared its title, Dreams to Come True, with the twelfth Vareš Classic Festival, VaClaF, which ran alongside it. Concerts took place in the house and on its terrace, in Borovica, Vareš, and Tuzla; the season closed in Vienna in October. The residents worked with the artistic team of the season: Belma Bešlić-Gál, Andrea Nikolić, Goran Stevanović, and Bernhard Gál.
