Four Artists in Residence

Four artists come to Boraviшte · the main Artist in Residence programme at Zvjezdane Staze · across 2026. Each comes with their own project. Each stays in their own rhythm. What gathers them here is the village above Vareš and a shared willingness to work at its pace.

A residency at Boraviшte is accompanied work. Artists apply, and a small number are selected each year. What follows is a period of sustained attention to one project: coordination, curatorial conversation, and the presence of the programme alongside the artist in the house above Vareš. Every residency is held on a bursary from Fondacija Prostor, which carries the greater part of what a stay costs; the contribution asked of the artist is symbolic, and stands at a considerable distance from that figure.
